Crash scene on northbound I-295 cleared

WASHINGTON — A serious single-car crash early Thursday morning temporarily shut down all northbound lanes on Interstate 295 in Southeast D.C., just above Malcolm X Avenue.

Officials cleared the scene around 9:40 a.m.

The cause of the crash is unknown.

D.C. police said the driver has been transported to a local hospital. The extent of the driver’s injuries are not known at this time.

Officials said there were no other passengers in the car.

Large sinkhole on Md. 214 expected to cause delays

A large sinkhole in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, has shut down a portion of Md. Route 214 in Davidsonville. Commuters should plan for delays to last through rush hour, officials said.
