Bed bugs found at second DC elementary school this month

WASHINGTON (AP) — Another D.C. elementary school is dealing with bed bugs.

WRC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2llIkS4) that D.C. public schools officials say bed bugs were found on people three different times this month at Minor Elementary School.

It’s unknown if the bugs were found on students.

School officials say they’re continuing to monitor the situation, but don’t believe that it is a widespread infestation.

Earlier this month, school officials announced that Savoy Elementary School in southeast would hold class at a temporary location after bed bugs and rodents were discovered.

Minor Elementary School sent a letter home to parents Wednesday to share an update regarding routine maintenance and cleaning at the school.

Officials also met with staff at the school that day to go over protocols for identifying and reporting potential pests.
