Woman fatally stabbed in Fairfax Co.; husband arrested

WASHINGTON – A woman was fatally stabbed in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County, Virginia, early Monday morning, and her husband has been arrested in connection with her death.

The Fairfax County police say someone called them just before 5 a.m. to report that they’d heard screaming and saw a woman lying unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 8400 block of Diablo Court.

The woman, identified as 35-year-old Yesenia Membrano-Diaz, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly before noon, they said that they’d arrested Ricardo Molina-Martinez, who they said was the victim’s husband, whom they described as a suspect.

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
