WASHINGTON — Driving through Embassy Row may be even slower than usual during the final days of November as roadwork begins on Massachusetts Avenue.

The District Department of Transportation said beginning Monday, Nov. 28, Massachusetts Avenue will be reduced to one lane both ways between Dupont Circle and Scott Circle during the midday hours.

The work is scheduled to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day long on Saturday.

Massachusetts Avenue will be paved and its curbs and sidewalks will be repaired throughout the week.

DDOT said that parking restrictions will be in effect. Metered parking in the curb lanes east of Dupont Circle will be off-limits at times. The agency said that temporary no parking signs will posted.

About 21,500 drivers use Massachusetts Avenue between Dupont Circle and Scott Circle daily. Illegally parked vehicles in the curb lanes during rush hours frequently cause traffic delays.
