Police: 2 missing Va. teens may be at risk, connected to gangs

WASHINGTON — Two teenage boys who have been missing since September may be connected to gangs and could be at risk, Fairfax County police say. Officers are looking for Edvin Escobar Mendez, 17, of Falls Church and Sergio Arita Triminio, 14, of Alexandria. Mendez was reported missing on Sept. 1; Triminio was reported missing on Oct. 4, but police say he’s been missing since Sept. 27. These cases were not believed to be connected when they were first reported, but recently, police say the two teens are “acquainted and affiliated with gangs” and may be at risk. Fairfax County police ask those with information to contact Detective Sassano at 703-227-2027 or call the department at 703-691-2131.
