WASHINGTON — State police in Virginia say a trooper was hurt in a chain-reaction crash along Interstate 95 on Saturday morning.

The incident happened at around 8:15 a.m., near the 134 mile marker in Stafford County.

A Nissan SUV was struck by an Ford F-150 while changing lanes, causing it to spin off the road — where Virginia State Police Trooper K.J. Zalasar was making a traffic stop.

State police said the SUV struck Zalasar’s cruiser, forcing it into the 2002 Audi that the officer had initially stopped.

Zalasar, 30, and the Audi driver were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Nissan driver, Alexandra M. Seaman, 24, of Woodbridge, Virginia, and a female passenger were also treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to state police, the Nissan and the Ford pickup were “driving aggressively towards one another” prior to the crash.

Both were charged with reckless driving.

The pickup driver, Christopher P. Johnson, 35, of Powhatan, Virginia, was not injured.
