2 Canadian men charged in killing Baltimore student

WASHINGTON — Police arrested two men in Toronto, and are still looking for a third person responsible for killing a University of Baltimore student last weekend.

Inspector Bryan Botts of the Toronto police homicide squad announced the arrest and charging of two men in connection with the killing of 26-year-old Julian Jones early in the morning Saturday.

Kenneth Omorogbe, 25, and Kamari Folkes, 24, both of Toronto are facing charges.

His department is looking for a third man who also will face similar charges in the beating death of the University of Baltimore student, who was visiting last weekend to celebrate a bachelor party with friends.

“The allegations are kicking and stopping of semiconscious Julian Jones when he’s on the ground, and there’s another individual we are looking at,” said Sgt. Gary Giroux with the Toronto Police Homicide Unit.

Working with nearby businesses and the Blind Tiger Lounge where the two groups of men met, Giroux said investigators also have cellphone video of the unprovoked attack on Jones.

“We have video inside Blind Tiger, that we have witnesses who we are prepared to look at,” Giroux said.

He said he hopes multiple witnesses inside and around the bar will be able to identify the third suspect.
