Police: Woman’s Rockville death is ‘suspicious’

WASHINGTON — A woman was found dead in a Montgomery County parking lot Monday morning, and police are calling her death “suspicious.”

Around 6:30 a.m., a passer-by found a dead woman lying in a parking lot near the fence line to the rear of 12349 Parklawn Drive in Rockville, Maryland. The parking lot borders an apartment complex and residents often cut through the parking lot to reach the nearby Twinbrook Metro, police said.

Police said there was no apparent trauma to the woman’s body. The woman, who was white, has not yet been identified, police added.

The body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death and for help with identification.

Police said they will release photos of the woman’s clothing and tattoos Tuesday to help in her identification.

Anyone with information about the death or a possible identification of the woman can call police at 240-773-5700.
