Md. parents arrested in killing of missing 3-month-old baby

WASHINGTON — The parents of a 3-month-old baby boy — who had been missing for almost a month — have been arrested in connection to the infant’s death, police said.

Antoine Petty, 32, and Geneice Petty, 24, both of Greenbelt, Maryland, were arrested Wednesday, according to Prince George’s County police.

The child and his mother were last seen Sept. 22 in the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road in Lanham, but were just reported missing on Monday. Police found both parents Tuesday and Antoine admitted he assaulted his son, resulting in the infant’s death, police said.

Both parents admitted to burying the baby’s body and led police to a shallow grave in the Riverdale area.

Antoine has been charged with murder in the first and second degree, among other charges. Geneice has been charged with being an accessory after the fact.

Both are in custody of the Department of Corrections.
