In early October, Ina Garten left her Hamptons home to return to her former one. Yes, before Garten became a Food Network star, she lived in D.C. and worked at the White House; her husband, Jeffrey, was at the State Department. During her most recent visit, Garten stopped by the farm-to-taco Georgetown restaurant, Chaia, to make make homemade tacos with co-owner Bettina Stern. She also visited José Andrés’ Barmini with Washington Post Food Editor Bonnie Benwick and met up with first lady Michelle Obama for tea. Set your DVRs: Garten’s D.C. adventures will be replayed on a one-hour Food Network special, “Barefoot in Washington,” scheduled to air Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
