Adele commands sold-out shows at Verizon Center

WASHINGTON — D.C. finally said “Hello” to Adele for two sold-out shows at the Verizon Center.

The British songstress performed Monday and Tuesday nights, filling the large venue with her stunning voice and relatable chatter. She told the audience that she had visited the National Zoo with her son while in the District, which a zoo spokesperson has confirmed, according to The Washingtonian.

The Grammy winner has taken her tour around Europe and now North America, following the release of her third studio album “25.” The album dropped just last year and has since gone multi-platinum. In fact, the wildly popular “25” reached diamond status last month for selling 10 million copies in the U.S. — less than a year since it was released.

This is her second diamond-status album; the first came from her sophomore effort, “21.”

Her sold-out tour continues to Nashville, Tennessee.
