Va. man turns himself in after hit-and-run on I-66

CENTREVILLE, Va. (AP) _ A man has turned himself in to police, two days after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate Highway 66 in Fairfax County.

The Virginia State Police said 23-year-old Khoa Do Dang Nguyen, of Centreville, was charged Monday with felony hit-and-run in connection with the early Saturday morning collision.

Authorities say 37-year-old Yesenia Esmeralda Funes, of Manassas, had pulled over onto the shoulder and gotten out of her car to retrieve something from the trunk when she was hit.

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
