VW recalls 280K cars due to risk of fuel leaks, fires

WASHINGTON — Volkswagen is recalling more than 280,000 cars due to the potential for fuel leaks, which could lead to fires, according to federal safety documents filed on Thursday.

Three separate recalls were issued for Audis and two Volkswagen models with gasoline engines in the United State. The potential cause of the leaks varied based on the model.

However no fires have been reported, and no one has been injured, Reuters reported.

Recalled models include:
Audi Q5 2009-2012, Audi Q7 2007-2012, Audi A3 2015-2016, Volkswagen Golf 2015-2016, Volkswagen GIT 2015-2016, Audi A6 2012-2013, and Audi A7 2012-2013.
