Girl arrested for making threat to DC charter school

WASHINGTON (AP) – A 14-year-old girl has been arrested after police say she made a false bomb threat to KIPP D.C. college preparatory school.

According to D.C. police, the girl called the Office of Unified Communications at about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday and said people were planning to blow up the school. Police say the girl then hung up without providing more information.

The girl, of Southeast D.C., has been charged with false report of a weapon of mass destruction.

The school is located on Brentwood Parkway in Northeast.
