Yahoo! hack impacts 500 million user accounts

WASHINGTON — Yahoo! confirmed Thursday that around 500 million user accounts could be impacted by a cybersecurity breach.

The internet company said that in 2014, a state-sponsored hacker may have gotten information included names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, hashed passwords (the vast majority with bcrypt) and, in some cases, encrypted or unencrypted security questions and answers.

Yahoo! said the state-sponsored hacker is not still in their system.

"Does @TuckerCarlson want to walk a mile in my legs and then tell me whether or not I love America?" Duckworth wrote on Twitter.
