The pedestrian, who has been identified as Hung Soon Seo, was struck around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, at the intersection of North Shore Drive and Village Road, police said. She died hours later at a hospital.

Fairfax County police officer Megan Hawkins says, at the time of the accident, the pedestrian was crossing North Shore Drive, but was not on a crosswalk when she was hit.

Initially, police were searching for a newer model, black Nissan Altima that was thought to be involved in the crash. Police then said the driver of the Nissan might have been a witness to the crash.

Now police are searching for a bright yellow Ford Escape that is believed to have struck the pedestrian.

Anyone with information about the accident can call the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543 or call Fairfax County police at 703-691-2131.
