Rockville intersection a fatal danger to cyclists again

WASHINGTON — When bicyclist Oscar Mauricio Gutierrez Osorio was struck and killed on Sunday near the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Turkey Branch Parkway, in Rockville, Maryland, Sunday afternoon, it was the second time in recent months that a cyclist was killed there.

Frank Towers, of Rockville, was struck and killed by an SUV last December at the same intersection.

Some residents of the area say more needs to be done in terms of safety at the intersection, and at least one is unhappy that the driver who hit Towers was acquitted in his death. Our news partners at NBC Washington have a report:
