Occupant escapes Silver Spring house fire

WASHINGTON – A house fire broke out Saturday morning on the 2100 block of Norbeck Road in Silver Spring, Maryland.

An occupant was able to get out of the house on their own, Montgomery County Fire said. Although there were initial reports that others could be trapped inside the house, Montgomery County Fire later said these reports were unfounded.

The person who escaped the house had no injuries, Montgomery County Fire said.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the bulk of the fire.

Norbeck Road between Laughlin Lane and Barn Ridge Drive were closed due to fire department activity related to the incident.
