Bicyclist killed in SE DC hit and run

WASHINGTON — A bicyclist was killed in what police are calling a hit and run in Southeast D.C. in the early hours of Thursday.

The D.C. police say they were called just after 1 a.m. near the 2700 block of Minnesota Avenue, where the cyclist was struck.  They said shortly after 8 that the cyclist had died of their injuries.

They haven’t released any information yet about the cyclist’s identity, or that of any suspects.

Police closed area to traffic, but have since reopened it.
