Police: Man stabbed at Georgia Ave. Metro station

WASHINGTON —The Georgia Avenue Metro station was shut down briefly Sunday due to a stabbing , according to Metro Transit police.

According to police, the assailant, a woman, stabbed a man near a station entrance. The station was closed for about 45 minutes because the only other entrance to the station was being renovated.

Police said the man was taken to the hospital but was “not cooperating” with the investigation.

The stabbing likely was “domestic in nature,” police said.
