Drivers can find parking at RFK

WASHINGTON — Some added relief is available for people choosing to drive into D.C. during Metro’s second SafeTrack surge.

Temporary parking is now an option at RFK Stadium’s Lot Three for $7 per day and $15 on event days. The lot will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Anyone parking there can take the bus bridge shuttles, or the 96 and 97 buses from Stadium-Armory.

Another reminder: the Stadium-Armory Metro stop itself is shut down during the surge in both directions.

This phase of SafeTrack repairs will continue through July 3. The impact is expected to be felt most by commuters who use the Orange, Blue and Silver lines; mainly the stations between Eastern Market and Minnesota Avenue/Benning Road stations, which will be closed. Blue Line service will also be suspended in both Maryland and the District.

WTOP’s Ralph Fox contributed to this report.
