Thousands without power as storms sweep DC region

WASHINGTON — Thousands of customers are without power Sunday afternoon, as powerful storms sweep through the region.

Potomac Edison reports more than 2,000 outages, mostly in Frederick County, Maryland. In Carroll COunty, 260 BGE customers are without power.

In D.C., 550 Pepco customers near Dupont Circle are without electricity.

If you need the number for your power company just text the word “POWER” to 91035 and WTOP will text them back to you.
