WASHINGTON —Fairfax County police said a woman was sexually assaulted in the Lorton region on Friday.

The incident happened at around 5 p.m. Police said a 20-year-old woman walking near Richmond Highway, near Cherwek Drive, was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her dress and sexually assaulted her.

The man left the scene on foot.

Police said the woman was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
