WB&A Trail extension opens

WASHINGTON — Cyclists in the area now have more room to ride, as a new stretch of the Washington, Baltimore & Annapolis Trail has opened in Anne Arundel County.

The 1.7-mile extension runs west from Conway Road in Odenton to the Prince George’s County line, The Capital Gazette reports.

The trail dead-ends at the banks of the Patuxent River before picking back up on the Prince George’s side. Plans are in the works to build a bridge over the river for bicyclists.

The ultimate goal, Jon Korin, president of Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, tells The Gazette, is to bike from Annapolis to D.C. without going on a road.
