Man using wheelchair dies after being hit by car

WASHINGTON — A pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Montgomery County Saturday night.

At around 11:30 p.m., the pedestrian, who was using a wheelchair, was attempting to cross East Gude Drive in Rockville when he was hit by a 2011 Toyota Scion xB. The 57-year-old man was taken to the hospital and died early Sunday morning from his injuries. He has not yet been identified.

The driver has been identified as 29-year-old David Alan Campbell.

Montgomery County Police are still investigating the collision, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
