Ramen bar set to open in Virginia’s Mosaic District

WASHINGTON — Los Angeles-based Jinya Ramen Bar will open its first East Coast outpost at the Mosaic District in Merrifield, Virginia.

Jinya — with 11 locations in California, Texas, Chicago, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Canada — says it “started the Ramen Revolution in Los Angeles.”

The ramen menu includes five different broths and 20 or so toppings so diners can “customize their umami experience,” the restaurant says.

The Mosaic District Jinya Ramen bar will be a full-service, sit-down restaurant.

The Mosaic District is becoming a dining destination. New York’s District Dumpling Go is opening its first D.C. location. Nando’s Peri Peri opens at Mosaic District this weekend.

The development is already home to nearly two dozen restaurants — including a Matchbox, Ted’s Bulletin and Taylor Gourmet.

Mosaic District, a mix of residential, retail and restaurants, opened in 2012 off Lee Highway just outside of the Capital Beltway.
