Man who escaped Fairfax Co. mental health facility located

WASHINGTON – Police located a mental health patient known to be violent who escaped from a Fairfax County mental health facility Wednesday.

Officers from Virginia State and Fairfax County police departments searched through the afternoon for a 36-year-old who escaped from the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute located at 3302 Gallows Road Wednesday. Police updated around 5 p.m. that the man was found

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was known to have violent tendencies, according to Fairfax County police.

A similar situation occurred in February when another man – 33-year-old Michael Marshall – escaped from the same mental health center.
