1 dies in Northwest D.C. house fire

WASHINGTON — A man is dead after a house fire in the early hours of Wednesday in Northwest D.C.

The fire happened just before 2 a.m. in a two-story house on the 3800 block of 45th Street, just behind American University.

The fire started on the second floor; a man was there and taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The fire is out and no other homes nor the university were affected. The fire is under investigation.
