D.C. police ask for help in identifying person of interest in Alabama Avenue shooting

WASHINGTON– The Metropolitan Police Department has released a video showing a person and vehicle of interest in the Mar. 6 shooting death of Tonett Ivy Smith, 39, of Northeast D.C.

Police have already recovered the car, but are asking anyone who may know the whereabouts of the vehicle from Friday, Mar. 4, through the time of the incident.

Smith and another person were shot around 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday, Mar. 6. A third person was injured by shattered glass resulting from the shooting. All three were taken to local hospitals. Smith succumbed to her injuries later that day.
