The first bank hit was the Chevy Chase SunTrust on Connecticut Avenue near Jones Bridge Road. That happened at 11:20 a.m.

Ten minutes later, about 3 miles away, the Chevy Chase Capital One on Connecticut Avenue near University Boulevard was robbed.
