MARC, VRE service delayed after Union Station fire

WASHINGTON – An electrical fire at Union Station led both MARC and VRE to suspend service in and out of the D.C. hub on Wednesday morning for about a half-hour.

Service for both railroads was suspended at about 7:30 a.m. MARC and VRE announced shortly after 8 that service had resumed, but that train would operate at slower speeds and major delays remained.

MARC Penn Line trains 408 and 419 have been canceled. VRE trains 310 and 328 are delayed 10 to 15 minutes.

Metro is honoring MARC tickets.
