Metro back to 6-minute service on Orange and Silver lines

WASHINGTON — As Metro riders hit the rails Monday, they may find their rides less congested.

While Metro restored 6-minute rush hour service to the Orange and Silver lines at the end of December, Monday marks the first day commuters back from the holiday break are using the trains.

The trains had been running less frequently because a catastrophic fire in September had knocked offline an electrical substation outside Stadium-Armory Station.
