Police identify man whose body was found in car in river

WASHINGTON (AP) — Police in Washington have identified the man whose body was found in a car after it plunged into the Anacostia River.

Fifty-one-year-old Lamont Gordon of Temple Hills, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene after Monday night’s crash, police said in a news release.

Emergency crews say they found Gordon’s body inside the overturned car when they investigated the crash.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of Gordon’s death, but said autopsy results have not been released.
