Retrial date set for 1st officer charged in Freddie Gray death

WASHINGTON — The retrial for William Porter — one of the six Baltimore police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray — will be in June after all other officers face their own trials.

Porter’s trial ended last week with a hung jury and a mistrial.

He was accused of failing to get medical help for a critically wounded Gray and was charged with manslaughter, assault, misconduct in office and reckless endangerment, carrying maximum sentences totaling 25 years.

The other officers charged in Gray’s death face trials between January and March.

The Nuke LaLoosh character in the movie classic "Bull Durham" was loosely based on Dalkowski’s career.
