1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting in Damascus

WASHINGTON — An argument between two men in Damascus, Maryland leaves one dead and the other in police custody.

Montgomery County police say the victim, who was shot in the torso, died at the home in the 24600 block of Ridge Road.

Police responded to the home after a 911 call that came in at 12:38 a.m. Monday.

The suspected shooter, a 35-year-old man who had been invited into the home earlier in the day, remained at the scene, police say.

Police say the name of the victim will be released after his family has been notified.

The homicide remains under investigation.
