Driver sought in fatal hit-and-run crash in D.C.

WASHINGTON — D.C. police are seeking the public’s help identifying a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash Saturday.

Police say the incident occurred at around 8:20 p.m., at the intersection of Southern Avenue and East Capitol Street, Southeast.

A vehicle turning from East Capitol Street onto Southern Avenue was struck in the intersection. Enrico L. Thomas, 23, of Southeast, died at the hospital from injuries suffered during the crash, police said.

Police said the driver of the turning vehicle drove away from the scene.

The Metropolitan Police Department has asked anyone with information about this case to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s Text Tip Line by sending a text message to 50411.
