Smallest house in D.C. available for rent

WASHINGTON — If you hate vacuuming,  here’s a house for you.

The smallest house in D.C. — 252 square feet — will be available for rent Nov. 15 on Capitol Hill, for $1,400 per month.

The brick exterior home, located on 12th Street at C Street NE, is easy to miss, since it measures just over 9 feet wide by 28 feet long.

On a street lined with two and three story homes, the home stands out with its single story.

The home’s owner, Marta Mirecki, told NBC 4 in 2013 a tax assessor verified this home is the smallest free-standing house in the District.

The tiny studio has a tiny stove, a tiny bathroom and a tiny washer and dryer.

It also has exposed brick, hardwood floors and a long, narrow backyard, including an off-street parking space.

No pets or smoking are allowed.

According to its Craigslist ad, an open house will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 18.
