D.C. firetruck involved in accident on way to fire on Saturday

WASHINGTON — A District fire truck was involved in a serious accident with another vehicle on the way to a fire Saturday.

According to NBC4 , Engine 15 was on the way to a fire on Ivanhoe Street, SW, around 11 p.m. when a car pulled out in front of it.

Four firefighters and four people in the car were injured in the collision. The firefighters were transported to the hospital for observation, but the condition of the car occupants are unknown at this time.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, in which one person was injured with non-life threatening injuries.
