Police ask for help identifying woman found in Howard County

WASHINGTON — Police in Howard County, Maryland, are asking for help identifying a woman who was found in Columbia on Tuesday.

Officers encountered the woman around 10 p.m. in the 7100 block of Minstrel Way, near Snowden River Parkway. Police say she appeared disoriented, and was taken to Howard County General Hospital for an exam.

Howard County police say they are having a hard time confirming her identity. The woman is safe, but police would like to locate her family.

For the first time, early warning sirens sounded in historic Ellicott City on Monday evening, triggered by a flash flood warning from the National Weather Service. Despite almost two inches of rain in a one hour period, no serious damage was sustained in Maryland's flood-prone tourist destination, which suffered devastating floods in 2016 and 2018.
