Police identify Reston woman who died in pedestrian crash

WASHINGTON — Police identified the woman who died after being struck by a car in Reston, Virginia, Wednesday morning as Silvia Raquel Corella Erazo, 72, of Reston.

Police say there was no crosswalk on Wiehle Avenue near Chestnut Grove Square where she was crossing around 6:25 a.m.

She had crossed the northbound lanes of Wiehle Avenue but was struck in the southbound lanes as she headed toward the Metro station.

Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. A 30-year-old Sterling-area man was behind the wheel of the 2005 Honda Accord involved in the accident.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
