Pedestrian struck by car in Reston dies

WASHINGTON — Fairfax County police are investigating a fatal accident where a woman was struck by a car in Reston, Virginia, Wednesday morning.

Police say the accident at Wiehle Avenue and Chestnut Grove Square occurred just before 6:30 a.m. The woman died at Reston Hospital, police say. Initially, police closed all of Wiehle Avenue. All lanes reopened just before 9:30 a.m.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
