Baltimore-Washington Parkway reopened after fatal accident

UPDATE 6:30 a.m. 10/14/2015: The Baltimore-Washington Parkway has reopened.

EARLIER: WASHINGTON — Traffic on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway is being snarled Wednesday morning after a fatal accident.

A car with three people in it overturned at the entrance to the northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway at Md. 32 at about 2:30 a.m., the U.S. Park Police say. The northbound lanes of the parkway are closed.

Three adults were in the car; one was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were taken to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Northbound traffic will be diverted onto eastbound Md. 32, while southbound traffic remains unaffected. Drivers headed to BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport are advised to take Interstate 95 instead.
