Belmont Elementary School closed due to water main break

WASHINGTON — Belmont Elementary School is closed Monday due to a water main break.

A Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman tells WTOP that the water main break happened in the neighborhood near the school.

The spokesman said WSSC is working on repairing the break and plans to have the water back on in four to six hours.

Montgomery County Public Schools said they expect to be open tomorrow.

As for Monday, the spokesman says, the school district has been following procedures to ensure that no child is left alone — that includes making phone calls, sending texts and sending buses to all of the bus stops.
