ROANOKE, Va. (AP) _ The city of Roanoke is offering a deal to bargain hunters.

The city plans to give away surplus desks, chairs and other items from city offices during a “clearance event” on Friday. The Roanoke Times (http://bit.ly/1QW3qwh) reports that all of the items are free. But people will have to haul items away themselves.

There’s no warranty or guarantee of condition. All items are offered “as is.”

The event is first come, first served.
