Man charged with indecent exposure in mall changing rooms

WASHINGTON — A man has been charged with indecent exposure after the police say he exposed himself to a clerk in a dressing room at the Springfield Town Center on Monday, and he’s been charged in a similar incident from last month as well.

The Fairfax County police say Allen Jones, 52, of Arlington, Virginia was shopping in the women’s underwear section of the JC Penney store at about 11:15 a.m. when he asked a clerk for assistance in a changing room as he tried on several items. The clerk contacted store security and the police, and Jones was arrested.

The police say they’ve linked Jones to a similar incident Sept. 18 in the Soma lingerie store in the mall. He’s been charged in that incident as well, and has been taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Detectives are looking for anyone who has more information about the case, particularly anyone who knows about any possible similar incidents. You can call the Fairfax County police at 703-691-2131, text TIP187 plus your message to CRIMES (274637) or go to www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org.
