Kendrick Lamar to bring ‘Kunta’s Groove Sessions” tour to D.C.

WASHINGTON — Those who missed the chance to see rapper Kendrick Lamar at the Kennedy Center will have another chance.

On Nov. 1, the Compton MC will bring his “Kunta’s Groove Sessions” tour to the Lincoln Theatre in Northwest, less than two weeks after he performs with the National Symphony Orchestra in the city.

The new D.C. date follows a short run of tour dates in Brooklyn, New York, Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois.

Backed by a live band, Lamar will play selections from albums good kid, m.A.A.d. city and To Pimp A Butterfly. A full list of tour dates below.

The hip-hop icon of Wu-Tang fame has teamed up with the ice cream brand Good Humor to re-imagine the signature "Turkey in the Straw" jingle played by ice cream trucks all over the country. Because, as it turns out, the tune has a problematic past.
