Woman falls off cliff in Fairfax Co.

WASHINGTON — A woman was hospitalized after falling 40 feet off a cliff Sunday at Scott’s Run Nature Preserve in McLean, Virginia.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials said the incident happened at around 1:20 p.m. The woman fell in a remote section of the park and had to be airlifted to the hospital.

During the rescue, fire officials said the woman’s injuries were life-threatening, but her condition was unclear at the time this article was updated Sunday afternoon.

Another person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
