‘Sábado Gigante’ ends 53-run tonight

WASHINGTON — The hugely popular Spanish TV program ” Sábado Gigante” ends its 53-year run tonight.

The Spanish language program, “Giant Saturday” in English, offers hours of interviews, variety, games and comedy with its larger-than-life host Don Francisco.

The three-hour finale, Sábado Gigante – ¡Hasta Siempre, airs tonight on Univision, starting at 8 p.m.

The program will “celebrate the work of host Mario Kreutzberger, known the world over as Don Francisco, and his entire cast and production team who have made “Sábado Gigante” a Saturday night tradition in millions of Hispanic homes around the world,” the network said in a news release.
