WASHINGTON — Montgomery County police have released the name of an unlicensed motorcyclist injured in multivehicle crash on Aspen Hill Road Wednesday morning.

Ronnie S. King Jr., 27, of Capitol Heights, was critically injured in the crash, according to police.

Police say he traveled through the intersection of Parkland Drive and Aspen Hill Road on a red light. He hit a Honda CRV traveling north on Parkland, then a Toyota Sienna minivan that was traveling south on Parkland — both cars had a green light. The CRV also hit the minivan plus a Mazda 3 that was heading south on Parkland.

The driver of the CRV was taken to the hospital but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, police say.

King was not licensed to drive a motorcycle in Maryland and did not have a license plate on his red Yamaha motorcycle. A Montgomery County officer tried to pull over King for not having a license plate a few minutes before the crash, but the officer lost site of King when he turned onto Aspen Hill Road.
