Montgomery County police investigate homicide

WASHINGTON — Police in Montgomery County, Maryland, are investigating the death of a man Sunday night as a homicide. It happened near the intersection of Veirs Mill and Randolph roads.

Police got a call around 9:15 p.m. about an unresponsive person in the service lane along Veirs Mill Road. Fire and Rescue crews found a Hispanic man believed to be in his early 20s in the road with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.

A preliminary investigation reveals that a road construction crew was working on the section of Veirs Mill Road and called police, and the suspects took off.

Police say the victim’s body will be taken to Baltimore for autopsy.
